Today the Sunday Funday writers are using leftover Valentines' Day candy. Stacy wrote: "What comes after February 14th? Discount candy day! Create a recipe using using leftover/discount Valentine's Day candy."

Stacy of Food Lust People Love, Rebekah of Making Miracles, Wendy of A Day in the Life on the Farm, and I coordinate this low-stress group; we only participate when we are inspired. I already mentioned that Stacy is hosting this week. Here is the line-up of the recipes from the group...

A Sweet-Cuterie Platter

I hadn't gotten any candy for Valentines' Day, but I ran down to grocery store on February 15th and picked up several discounted bags of candy. I couldn't think of anything to do with it besides putting together a sweets grazing board. Here are my tips to creating a savory Grazing Board; a sweet-cuterie board is assembled with the same ideas of varying colors, textures, and tastes.
For this board I included Rainbow Loops Crispies and Nutty Chow in addition to just the candy.
But I was still wondering if I could do anything with the leftover Cupid's Blend M&Ms besides just spooning them onto the platter. I posed the question to my social media followers and got: bake them into cookies. Okay. I can do that.
Cupid's Blend Cookies

Ingredients
1 cup butter
1 cup organic dark brown sugar
1 cup organic granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoon pure vanilla paste or extract
1 teaspoons baking soda
3 cups gluten-free flour (I use Bob's Red Mill 1-to-1 Gluten-Free Baking Flour)
1-1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chip
1/2 cup Cupid's Blend Peanut M&Ms plus more for finishing
Also needed: hand mixer, spatula, Tablespoon scoop, baking sheets, parchment paper, wire cooling racks

Procedure
Preheat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour, and baking soda.
Melt butter in a saucepan.
In a large mixing bowl, beat together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Once the butter is melted, pour that into the sugar-egg mixture and continue beating until well-incorporated.'
Fold the flour mixture into the egg mixture until everything is just moistened. Stir in the chocolate chips and M&Ms
Scoop 3 Tablespoon portions and place them on a baking sheet. Gently press the portions into a balls and flatten them slightly on the prepared baking sheets. Press a couple or a few of the Cupid's Blend Peanut M&Ms into the top.
Place tray in the oven and bake for 18 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool for 3 minutes before removing to a wire cooling rack.
Cool completely before storing in an airtight container...or enjoy them warm.

That's a wrap on my offering for leftover Valentines' candy. Next week the group will be back to share meatball recipes. Stay tuned! We are huge meatball aficionados in this household.
You were more energetic and creative than I with those M&M's LOL......
